Watkinsville is located in Oconee CountyGeorgia, approximately seven miles south of Athens and seventy miles east of metropolitan Atlanta.  Incorporated in 1815, Watkinsville is currently home to a population of approximately 2,800 residents and is the county seat of Oconee County.
