What Makes Lexington So Special To Us:

Lexington is located in Oglethorpe CountyGeorgia, approximately eighteen miles northeast of Athens and eighty-five miles northeast of metropolitan Atlanta.  Incorporated in 1806, Lexington is the county seat of Oglethorpe County and presently home to a population of approximately 230 residents.

Lexington is served by the Oglethorpe County School District.  The city is home to Shaking Rock Park, a small state park featuring unique collections of large natural granite outcroppings, as well as an active beaver pond, nature trails, and picnicking area.

The jewel of the community is the Lexington Historic District.  Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the historic district encompasses the majority of the town and boasts homes in a variety of architectural styles that include Federal, Plantation Plain, Colonial & Greek Revival, Italianate, and Craftsman.  Residents and visitors to Lexington can enjoy the Church Street Historic Walking Tour, offered by the Chamber of Commerce.

Conveniently situated on U.S. State Route 78, Lexington is a great place to live or visit in northeastern Georgia!
